Fire Hydrants Add Unique, Artistic Twist to Downtown

Each year, seniors in the Wentzville School District compete for scholarships from the City of Wentzville’s Water Division. This year, three $750 scholarships were awarded to one student from Holt, Liberty and Timberland high schools.

As one of the only fine-arts related scholarships in the area, students paint fire hydrants in celebration of National Water Week. One first-place winner from each school was then selected to receive the scholarship. This year’s first-place winners include Katie Dains (Holt), Emilee Reed (Liberty) and Shauna Rainey (Timberland).

You're invited to participate in a scavenger hunt! Twelve fire hydrants have been placed around historic downtown Wentzville at various locations. They will be on display until late this year. Use the map below to locate the fire hydrants around town. Use the hashtag #wentzvilleart to tag your photos on Instagram.
